Lead ball and very little else
Strolled out the the area of beach where more than a few lead balls are turning up, some call them musket balls and some Anti aircraft munition, I'll stick with lead balls. It was a bigger tide so more of the beach was on show probably another 100 meters or so. I went right out, the theory being the least often an area of beach is revealed the less likely it has of being detected, big mistake, it was practically devoid of signals except for couple of ali scrap digging these revealed that there was only about an inch of sand before the base of the beach a heavy grey clay revealed itself. Anything out here with any age would have been washed around and as such badly worn. I wandered back to where I had a little more success previously. I won't bore you with a blow by blow detail, but it went like this.
8 Lead balls
1 lead net weight
1 key echelon cover
2 copper shrapnel ( banging signal with these)
1 303 bullet with a tappered back end
2 pieces of brass plates which i suspect lined a ships hull at some time.
Not the best, but the bad always makes the good days that much better.
