Think I'm finally in the correct place with this,

,I went to the farm yesterday morning to show the farmer the little bit of tithe map research I had on hand, also to check if the silage cut had begun, after a chat he said I could have a play with the CTX3030 settings in between the swathes he'd already cut, I did an hour through the menus & had a promising first real find;
A nice 39g weight musket ball, 17th century, with a very high impact flat, & no sprue marks.
The ball was only lightly oxidised, so I might be able to assume the soil conditions close by are around neutral ph,so hopefully any coinage that may be found should have a bit of condition.
