Get a solder gun some rosin core solder, cut the old chewed section completely out,you will have two pairs of wires each pair is shielded separate from the other and a single unshielded wire.split the outer casing right down the center til you have enough exposed wire to work with stagger your connections so they aren't on top of each other when you join the two wires don't just overlap, wrap each around the other for a few turns them solder you can shrinkwrap or elect rubber insulation tape them individually then put the pair together and shield with aluminum foil .the single unshielded wire is just soldered back together as for the outer casing I usually use the rubber insulating tape.followed by a coating of clear silicone.my dog did the same thing in two places on one of my detectors and I accidentally cut the wire on another one lol but that's what I did and they both worked exactly like before the lil mishaps.

Did your coil cable have the foil shielding on it.

Just two sets of wires n a single uninsulated one it's not as technical as some make it seem just do a good job soldering insulating n shielding then waterproof n your good as new I had to look at things like this if one man can learn to do it then so can I we both came into this world with the same set of tools 😆

Before you spend a lot of money getting it fixed or replacing it I would try the procedure that I use to fix mine you have nothing to lose and everything to gain just make sure and shield it like it was originally I used thin foil and mine works as they did before getting damaged use some clear silicone and RUBBER insulating tape covered by a larger shrink tube to finish it off the repair will be a lot more ridge than before so cable wobble won't be a problem.
