Hi

I have just joined the forum and just about to buy my detector so keen to get going. I also live in Selby so if you fancy buddying up any time then please let me know.

Hi Steve, and welcome to the forum. [81/]

I've moved your post to a topic of its own, as the one that you posted on is 2 years old, and the poster (Chris) is no longer a member.

It is always a good idea to find somewhere to legally use a detector, prior to purchasing, and there is some good advice in this forum (Permissions) to help you.

This sub-forum is also worth a visit: Important Information

Anything else, just ask away.

Many thanks for the advice and info Brad.
I thought about trying some beaches and I have a friend with a small amount of land to practice on first.
Thank you once again!

Hi just joined... I'm in York. Early 60s too. Looking for events, knowledge, any kind of sharing. Buddying sounds a great idea in principle. Haven't got access to any land as yet and got a Vanquish 540 yesterday so have yet to work out much more than on/off, connect headphones and listen to a lot of beeps in the garden!
