Drought ends with silvers

Post by Macsen Wledig »

So I kinda knew when I found my third gold coin in as many weeks rhat I was going to be in for a dry patch and sure enough my hunch was right. Spent the last half of August collecting mootubes and the first part of September collecting buttons.
Last couple of outings have been better though So hopefully my karma is balanced again.
Yesterday I spent a while in an very empty paddock. The only area with signals was around the gate. I had a few pot shots after cherry picking amongst the noise, button, foil, George V penny and then came a bracelet made from Dutch 10 cent coins from 1941.
Not exactly exhilarating but interesting nonetheless.
Entering the next big field again signals where scant. Two hours with little more to show than more mootubes and then a nice solid 21-22 on the Nox at only 3 bars down and out of the blue and seemingly out of nowhere a Charles I shilling
Onwards and upwards now for hopefully a fruitful autumn.

Interesting bracelet. Coins are Zinc but after 1941, until 1945, were minted in the USA, due to the Netherlands being occupied.
Would never have known that before you finding your bracelet.
Cheers, [81/]

That makes sense thinking back. The area being near the gate was littered with modern junk, quite a few aerosol cans buried deep that have signals into the high 30's accompanied by a high pitched squeal.
This gave the same squeal but with lower vdi numbers 17-18-20
It was also near the surface. I probably wouldn't have bothered if it had been any deeper as each dig was difficult scraping and hacking through bits of hardcore.

The shilling was sat alone in what is a very clean empty and boring to detect field. It's not the first time either that I've found a random hammered in a sea of nothingness.
The moral of the story being no matter how seemingly desolate a place can feel. A goodie might well await you with the next swing of that coil.
