Manticore iron problem.

The problem of those deep old nails ( 15 inches or so deep ) has been solved by raising the upper ferrous limit. Now, despite my very aggressive setup, I can identify them better.

There is easy iron and complex iron. Detectors still battle the problem

I have 35 years of experience with detectors.
I own an Equinox 900 and a Manticore.
The best detector I have owned that best identifies deep old iron is the 900 and the the Manticore not so good.
The Manticore has many other virtues, but it should do a software update with the iron problem.

Sorry to tell you, but 35 years of experience is of little use with the Manticore if you don't also reset the way of thinking, don't make comparisons with the Equinox.
To increase the depth you need to lower the sensitivity to have the right stability on the mineralized soil, I also recommend selecting 1 region, two tones.
Excluding the sound of iron, in all-metal research, seems a beginner's maneuver.

Even if you ignore iron you usually still need to hear it when searching just to properly understand what's going on underneath the coil.

I also know that in all metal you have to hear the iron, but in my soils both the Manticore and the Equinox with just setting the volume of the iron to 1 you can hear the whisper of the ground constantly. It is true that I normally use the ground balance at 0.
However, I will try other settings to try to bring the iron volume to 2-3.

It does say in the manual that you should Ground Balance in mineralised ground. It might be worth just seeing if GB Tracking reduces the noise. I don't like GB Tracking as it can cause other issues but if it reduces the background noise at least it will suggest where your problem lies.

Where are you and how do you know your ground is mineralised?

Have you tried the auto ground balance?

What sensitivity are you running at?

Do you use the stabiliser and if so what do you set it at?

As recommended in mineralized soils, if it really is, a smaller coil is definitely a proof worth doing.

It is true that I have to do more tests, I have already admitted that I was hasty. I have only 5 hours with the Manticore and hundreds with 600, 800 and 900, as well as hundreds more with Etrac, CTX, Explorer...
I will take note of those of you who have been with it longer.
