Interesting lead artefact for ID please

Post by Riggers »

Just found this interesting lead artefact a couple of hours ago by a medieval church, if anyone has any ideas what it is, I’d be really grateful. The hole near the top goes about half way through - it weighs 50g. Google search came up with a medieval harp tuner? There are some lines scratched into it but I don’t think they are decorative, looks like they have been scratched from use of the artefact, there is also a groove at the end where the hole is making me think it is definitely some kind of tool. Thanks very much for your help 😊
