Small clipped worn hammered for ID please

Post by Ringtop-grafter »

Hello all & hope you are managing to get out.

Got out for 3 hours this afternoon on a stubble field, had a few interesting lead items the normal half a dozen worn coppers and this small hammered coin. It is very similar to two that I found in close proximity about 18 months ago so I’m pretty sure it’s a Henry VIII but my other two don’t have small stars around the edge you can see. It was very stained but managed to clean it up with an eraser and warm water. An accurate ID as always would be much appreciated [81/]

Found with my Manticore about 3 inches deep and gave a solid two way medium tone with a fixed 27 on the VDU and 27 out of the hole. A neat circle a third of the way up on the line.

You only go round the block once! So you might as well go round it with a smile on your face (2:)
