Beaches around Haverfordwest

Post by MrKeen92 »

Will be heading to Haverfordwest around the end of June for a family holiday, considering taking the kit for a day of detecting on the beach (never detected on a beach yet!)
Any of you good folk in the know of which beaches nearby I can detect/are worth detecting?

Just had a quick look on the Crown Estate map and it looks like you have a good choice of possible opportunities subject to checking.

You have got to find your own spots every beach is "worth detecting". I find the beaches I do with huge footfall I don`t do that well then the manky beach which is not popular great, just the way it goes. You never know.

Don`t even think about doing a busy beach, nightmare. In June pick a day when the weather is miserable or a beach that is not used much.

Stick up a post with the bits you get would be good to see......Good luck and have fun......... [81/]

If you want the old bits you need to be on land generally speaking. Having said that I used to do a castle foreshore (100% allowed) and that got me some old bits......

On the beach you will get loads of junk, few coins, fishing weights, ordnance the odd ring all the usual stuff you expect to be left behind from a day out plus a war!!!!......
