hi, found this today, around 15" deep, and a real pain to get out, surrounded by rocks. Thanks

This could have been used by farm workers when in the fields, they used to have lunch where they were working.

It looks very like the top of the stove coffee percolator that my grandmother had, the centre of the lid was glass so you could see when the coffee percolated and a metal bit with lots of small holes sat just inside the top with the coffee granules it it,
Used it myself when I first left home.

no problem dave, couple big spoons of dirt to [49/] still have to clean the spout out

Not sure of the makers mark, but definitely a percolator something like this one.
