Beach Detecting Permits - HELP

Post by Stockportjohn »

I was planning to go to the beaches near Skegness this weekend and was wondering if i need to obtain any permits in advance.

I have never been detecting on a beach so not sure of any special rules.

Can anyone let me know any good places to visit as i am travelling over from Chesterfield and i haven't been there for over 25 years.

Regards

Hi John,

Not all Skeggy beaches are covered by the Foreshore permit some are council owned but luckily some are OK to detect.

The East Lindsey District Council web site that covers Skegness, there is a sensitive area on the South that is a no go for detecting but the rest is OK. Download the 'Metal Detecting Guidance' Document on the right on this link for full details.
