Arrived today in Felixstowe and in the evening I visited the beach with the DEUS for about 2 hours.
Surprised by the stones (expected sand).
Found lots of scrappy metal pieces from metal cans and sea.
But also 23 coins: 8x 1 Penny, 7x 2Pence, 5x 5 Pence, 1x 20 Pence and 2x 1 Pound.
Additionally a key, remains from a clock with some rubies in it, some pendant with water and same arabian looking characters.
Seems the beaches here are truly the poorest from all those I visited, but stuff can still be found.
Raising the question, where to go tomorrow.
Best greetings
Olaf

Felixstowe does have some sandy bits, try further north towards Old Felixstowe, plenty of sand there and you are perhaps more likely to find the older stuff. Look up Google Earth.
I used to do some kayaking across the river Deben to Bawdsey. That river leads up towards Sutton Hoo, the famous burial ship site, so the Deben estuary should be a big interest to detectorists. There are lots of playful seals that bob around and the Young Offenders I was in charge of at Hollesley Bay Colony would keep capsizing and generally falling in the fast flowing current until I told them that what they thought were seals were in fact man eating sharks, no more falling in after that! The second beach day.
Since I arrived too early at the hotel again this time, I decided to walk down to the beach. I needed to clean the muddy shoes somehow and the stony and partially sandy beach gave me a good chance for it.
And this time the tide was low. But no real findings - only a 1920 coin within the stones, some broken copper nails, 3 larger fishing weights and a few pence. I see, the recent small British coins are getting as bad as the small Euro Cents - they start to get rusty fairly quick!?
Remains of a copper clip with two lines text, containing the words Serenity in one line and Honesty in the other.
And a scary face from pottery, about one Kilogram heavy, maybe made by a child, not really treated hard by the tides. (Had a scratched number "35" on the back side.)
Best greetings
Olaf

Day 3 of Felixstowe Beach action.
After a good meal a colleague dropped me on the far side, at the Deben ferry, pointed to the right - there is the beach - and disappeared.
And down I went - only to see a narrow stone desert, called "beach". Not many signals too - but one coin I found - a 3 Pence piece from 1961.
Due to the low finding rate I went faster and reached a cliff of rocks, while on the country side a concrete wall was blocking my way up (and since I hate to return to find another way, I climbed up those rocks). Becoming a sportsman through detecting
After I reached the upper area, I found myself on a small path made from small stones, big rocks to my left and a weak fence to my right, which should hinder people to come from the real path into the "rocky mountains". Only that I was on the wrong side of the fence - and climbing over it was no option, since it would not have survived my weight.
So I went on with mixed feelings, staring into several holes on my left side and the occasional danger shield, until I finally reached the end of that rocky area.
Finally got some more coins under the detector, also my first 2 Pound piece (which gave an interesting signal, which I would associate with certain bottle caps in Germany). Total revenue in about 2 1/2 hours: 5 Pounds, 94 Pence. Plus the mentioned 3 Pence, a 1 Penny coin from 1935 in good condition and a half copper coin fragment, fully blanked out by stones and waves.
Best greetings from Felixstowe

Good morning Olaf, it seems that your metal detecting is becoming very good fitness training
It's nice to hear about your adventures & I'm glad you are finding those coins!
