I presume it is bent double?

If so can you open it up? might have some detail inside.

Do not try and open it.......
That is an art and best left to people who know what they are doing........

You sure its bronze?.........Just incase its not try a little experiment....
Get some tin foil and place the coin on it and spit on the coin.....close the foil over and rub gently for a few seconds......then wait.....if you get a nasty smell it may prove to be low grade silver and will clean up a bit........

Bruce

I know you have to be careful opening them up but what else is there? I presume these special people will charge for this procedure and if it ends up being of little or no value it will have been payment for nothing!!

Admittedly if there were some distinguishing marks to be seen now then all well and good, but not much to be seen really.

Or would the FLO be of use?

The FLO will want it to stay folded....they were love tokens and folded because of that......sometimes they were clipped to the clothing of a dead loved one.....dates unknown...

How do you know that from the pic? not doubting you as I have no idea, but couldn't it just be a bent coin?

Wow...1k posts...man i waffle to much....

You're right about the coin...it could well just be a bent coin, but it takes some doing to bend it almost perfectly by accident.....

Love tokens were bent into an S shape.....but there are rumours of some coins being bent double using some heat and then clipped to a dead loved ones clothing....

I would still try the tin foil trick as i think it might be silver.....unless the poster is positive its bronze.......

Looks like a folded token, dont think its silver looks more like a copper alloy.
