Cheers ths looks like it, although in the passage it mentions the horse being the wrong way round, and on this one it appears to be the right way round when struck. In my book the type Corieltavi of this coin are cat, vep, aunt cost, esuprasu, vep corf, dummo tigir seno, volisios dumnocoveros, volisios dumnovellaunos, volisios cartivellaunos and latios ison. Im not sure whether this would go under any of these?

The existing one, another week before the new ones is ready :)

The stater was 5 inches down, after finding that and checking round the same area, I went to see the farmer, showed him the find. He was in the middle of deep ploughing the first of his fields when I saw him, and he is such a nice chap I said do you mind if I go on the other half he had done, while he was still ploughing the other side. Thats when the Roman Brooch was found.

Just waiting for the onions to come out of the field for the area the stater was found near. :))

Cheers everyone.

Ive had a look at various similar types of this tribe, and the detail on this one seems to be quite amazing in comparison. I am no grader, as I would be very biased, but this has to between VF and EF I would think after inspection. :-/

I was hoping to give the farmer some kind of idea in regards to value of the coin, obviously this will be reported to the FLO of the PAS, but id like to give my farmer an estimate when i visit him tomorrow. Trouble is it doesnt seem to be listed in my book and the ones ive seen are not listed as any value.

Any ideas?

Im hoping an arangement with the farmer can be made, so that i can keep this. Id hate to part with it :((
Cheers
