Hi Cockneyred, looks exactly like the stuff i normally find.Read somewhere on the forum that you should save up the lead to make fishing weights.Since trying that myself i haven't found any lead at all. Typical !

Mmmm, me, perhaps I have an over active imagination! Could that lead be a clue to something else? Maybe!? Some of the pieces look as though they were formed from puddled lead; the sort of thing you get when a lead item melts in a fire.

Perhaps you have stumbled upon an old lead working area. What was the area like that you found it in? Did you see any pieces of deformed glass in the same area. Some times, in a fire, even glass will start to melt.
