Not metal.. but stoneage? any help possible

Post by Z20LET »

Hi while detecting at my uncles house this evening, which is a extremely old property (not stone age) i found by a rather big lake some corrugated metal, it was spread over a large area and quite deep so i was intrigued anyway i started to fill in the hole when my cousin noticed a strange stone, then i noticed a piece of flint that my cousin put in his pocket, there were some very big perfectly round stones but we pocked a few of the smaller ones...

one by one we slowly cleaned them and we found some interesting finds, what seems to be a flint knife a flint arrow head some kind of bird head stone with a carving of a mans face in the back ( i think ) most interesting for me is one stone in particular it appears to have a bores head on one side and a gorrilas head on the other and possibly something else at the back.. there are teeth eyes nose, ears horns by the way my cousin thinks its not a bore and my girlfriend says it looks like a dinosaur i hope were not getting carried away. The other side deffinately appears to be a gorrilas head with a deffinite nose present.. we googled this and of course found many flint knives and arrow heads but nothing to do with animals faces on small stones, since i've been on here i noticed you lot know everything :)) what you thinking guys? i know the pictures aren't that great but if you think its worth taking more detailed pictures of course i will

Carl

to the left is the flint tool, and to the right is the birds head?

Its extremely easy and quick to resize them to 600x600 pixels or less and upload them with your post as an attachment...

The issue is the pictures are blurry not that they're close up and big.

Aye the rock (a solid piece of flint it looks like) is unlikely to be anything other than that. The other piece however does look like it may be something interesting :)

The only piece that looks anything othere than natural wear n tear is the first flint tool. I think you all got very vivid imaginations lol.
