Any info appeciated re finds

Post by Rabb »

Hi

I've posted some pics of the few items I found last time I was out detecting [ a loooong time ago but hoping to get back into it soon ] - a couple of them I obviously know what they are but don't know anything else - can anyone help please?

The roundish object is lead and approx 38mm dia x 5mm thick and weighs 1.8oz/52 gm - it has what looks like a V shape stamped on it - the other side is plain.
I was unsure if this was a weight as any pics of weights I've seen are a bit more fancy looking.

The key is 2.5" long and looks like bronze - has a nice green colour to it - I was really pleased with this find [ shows the level of finds I had back then! =)) ] and liked to imagine it was a really old casket key

The whistle is 2" long - not sure what kind of metal it is

The "buckle"is about 40mm long - I don't know if this is a buckle or part of a buckle

Best Regards

I think you got a 17-18th century Unifaced Lead Token there, check out the link 3rd one down.

Thanks for the reply and info Paul; that link you sent looks like a very useful site.

Does anybody have an idea how old or what kind the key may be?
