Nice haul there. How did you get permission to do Minehead? Doesn't appear to be an area marked on the south west Crown Estate and foreshore map but I'd love to get permission for there. Do you need a permit from Somerset council and if so, was it free please?

Wow. .very nice haul of finds, I've been at Minehead in the past and taken off a lot of coins but the rings in your picture look like a good addition to the usual coins etc. Well done. ::g

Bringing this old post back to life, I would appreciate your tips/advice. I've just booked a 4 night break for June in Minehead, however it looks like I've dropped a bit of a clanger. Looking on the Crown Estate website, Minehead definately isn't shown as a purple area. Despite this, reading posts on here and a few other forums, it seems that some folk have still been detecting there, and so I'm a bit confused. Can anyone give me any advice on what beaches I will be able to use my detector on? Thanks.
