bullet casing stamps
Hi all found a couple casings today with the stamp RL 1937 WI any ideas? i was told the yanks had a camp on the land in ww2 or are these civil cases would put picks up but camera on charge ,
Without pictures it can be difficult, but your headstamps have probably told me all I need to know.
RL = Royal Labs, Woolwich Arsenal
1937 - Year of manufacture
WI = Armour Piercing, Mark I
Basically a standard 303 headstamp.
Just to make sure, does the cartridge have a rim wider in diameter than the cartridge itself, or one that is the same diameter as the cartridge ? The former = 303, the latter = something else and I would need to see a pciture
Cheers

Sorry......didn't answer everything
Not civilian, military, and almost certainly British forces, not American, (although they were trained in the use of Lee-Enfields and other British weapons). Pictures will ID them positively
