Luckily i didn't take the backphones apart, so i have fixed them back to normal.
Is there anyone on the internet, or even any shop that you could send a controller-less headband to, along with some headphones, and pay for them to do it?
Cheers,
Sam

i got a spare set of backphones and done the same, the only different thing i done with mine is after i cut the wire connected to the speaker, i threaded the wire through some shrink tube. this fits VERY tight in to the hole that i drilled where the wire enters the top of the ear defender. i managed to pull the shrink tube into the hole by about 25mm, this takes all the preasure off the wire and also protects the wire taped to the head band.

I used ex army headphones http://i970.photobucket.com/albums/ae18 ... CF0079.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It would be interesting to see if another pair of headphones would work, say a small pair, then lengthen the wires so you could have the controler in your top pocket say. it would be easy to reprogramme the ssettings this way, like looking at a fob watch.

It was done by this guy to put on the wrist: http://xpdeus.ru/xp_deus_tuning.htm About halfway down the page. So it certainly looks like it's possible to create something that can be placed anywhere on the body with enough length of wire. Current setup:

as you thought mate, its just the "guts" from the deus phones into some ear defenders. all the gear, no idea!
The ADX150 can run wireless phones if it has the right modification to the PCB.If you call Regtons they can tell you if it has it,or give you a price to retrofit it.(If you got it new it should be wireless ready) ![]() ![]() http://www.minddisorders.com/Del-Fi/Denial.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Lions lead by donkeys

Only noticed the other day I never got around to showing a final pic in this thread so I've uploaded one now. 6 months+ of testing they still work perfectly well. They've survived wind, rain, hail, snow, and blazing sun, and minor flooding. Nice and comfy too for long periods and can even be worn over wooly hats... perfect.

Does anyone know if you can buy the original headphones minus the control box and if so where and how much. I would love to try this mod but would only do it on a spare pair of headphones.

I may be slow but can still get to my knees for the glint of gold
You can actually use any pair of headphones, it doesn't have to be the xp ones, you just have to wire them up the same way, which lowers the cost to pennies. Then you just shape a suitable bit of plastic like the original mount to glue onto your chosen headband to attach the control unit.
Obviously it most likely won't sound identical to the original tones this way, but it's not hard to change the settings in the control box to replicate the sounds. If you want original backphones then I know regtons sell replacements, but I'm sure they're not the cheapest place so shop around. ![]() If you're not wanting to do this yourself as a project then you can always spend more and get them from Chefphones as he sells them now. Seem to be the same idea but mass produced. Current setup:

"I wish!" Hardly mass produced Ben, all made individually by hand. finds 2013

Well you've made lots of them it seems, so that's mass produced to me.
