Anyone from around the Woolacombe beach area?

Post by prometheus »

I was just wondering if there were any folk from around the woolacombe bay area of Devon. I am heading out that way on a long weekend break in about a months time and was planning on bringing the detector for a few hours chancing my luck on woolacombe beach.

Ideally could you please tell me GPS co-ordinates of where the buried gold is. Within 1m please. Also please tell me what settings I need to find it c'

Alright not really, actually that would be pretty boring to not have to search for it, and even if someone were to offer settings....could I really trust them .......

Yeah Dave... set your detector discrim as high as it will go alright mate ..... 8-} ...

joking aside. Is it a good beach for detecting? What have you found on the beach? I am going to start doing some history homework on the area to get a feel for it. B-) Should be fun either way.

I've not been to Woolacombe yet but either side of the stream in front of the carpark and beach huts is the busiest part...there were quite a few people on the beach over those few days of nice weather which will probably turn out to have been summer 8-}

Thanks Ferret

just read your thread and looks good. if I don't find the hoard straight away then the second objective is to make enough for fish & chips ::g

It's a bit of a way off yet but looking forward to it already.

P.s. Great to see little gigs finds too. I was tempted to wade into the debate about photos on t'internet but thought better of it. ;) . I was thinking of getting a little detector for my daughter to have a go at. What was little gig using. Was it an ace?

Little Gig was using my Euroace at the time he would have gone on for a lot longer but the weather just beat us up :( ... Will return one day and was staying @ Golden Coast Holiday park 5 mins drive from the beach.

Cheers

Snap. That's were we're going . Is it a nice park? I've never been there before.
