wonderful photo of hoard

Post by liamnolan »

I get both TH and Searcher magazines and yesterday as I browsed through the Searcher mag I saw the Ackworth Hoard featured. Its a great story but the most interesting bit for me was the photo taken by the finders of the hoard still lying in the ground, half in and out, pot still there, coins clustered together, the exact same sight we would LOVE 8-> 8-> 8-> to see ourselves after a few spadefuls of earth. The coins are gold and silver hammies, themselves an iconic shot.
The last time I saw such an exciting shot was of the Wickham Market Iceni coins hoard in a pot, uncleaned and the dull sheen of the gold.
Certainly an inspiring few photos and report, Liam :;@

Wow to the photo and another wow for the film. What fantastic finds.
Its better out of the ground and in your hand for the history or monetary value rather than left in the ground to rot doing nothing for anyone.
