New Deus over old ground...

Post by Donington Mudman »

I recently posted asking whether it was worth going over old quiet ground I'd hammered with my GMP with my new Deus. I only had an hour so stuck to an area I'd previously got a silver William III sixpence from, and did a systematic search of this small area. Most of the stuff was six inches or deeper. Nothing earth shattering, but all this came from a corner of the field I had given up on as baron after many hours of hitting it with the GMP. Very positive first outing.

Well done this was my experience in January 2010.

My pals could not believe it until they saw the finds all of which were being masked by 2,000 years of accumulated ferrous waste.
I have never looked back since the Deus came out even though my previous machines were all good ones from Minelab,Whites and Fisher etc etc.

This is just the start for you. ::g Jerry.

Ditto for me as well. It certainly works well on trashy ground to get the targets lots of other detectors seem to lose in amongst the iron, etc. ::g

Hi, can you tell me what setting you had on the deus. The reason I ask is ive used a gmp for a number of years on my permission of mostly pasture. But have a deus coming next week and hoping to go over old ground. After reading your post I'm feeling optimistic ::g

On the advice I got here, I was in GMAXX most of the time, and Basic 1. Aside from the above stuff, there was a pouch full of cow tube thingys, lead, cans and other junk. All signals not picked up by the GMP. I'm no expert on the Deus though. Good luck to you :D

Thanks. This isn't a scientific result, I've only been out once with the machine, but the signs for me so far have been very positive. Good luck if you buy the Deus :D
