Hi, Had 3 hours at a small local beach this morning and found £7.11p and a silver ring, all from the top dry sand. Was well happy.
I tried down at the waters edge with the tide out but did not feel confident about finding anything. My Ace 250 was very quiet, so quiet in fact I waved my spade in front of it to make sure it was on. Not one bleep from the sand. I got to thinking well, if a swimmer lost a ring yesterday, by now it would have sunk into the sand and gone well out the range of my detector. Or don't it work like that, is it possible that coins and rings could still be like 4 inches or less into the sand?.
£7.11p and a silver ring.

From the land of the Bluenose.....depends on the wave action how quick coins and rings sink. Nice scoff on the coins!

Hi,
Yup, Bovvy a handy place to go
.
When I got the time I'm going to sit down and do some research on *Oceanology, I think that's what its called.
I did read somewhere that Mother Nature is the plough to the beach as a farmers machine is to the land. Always moving and throwing up new finds.
Okies, off to work
