First time beach detecting

Post by stargazer »

Went to Blackpool with my 'better half' today, Sunday, to have a go at beach detecting.

Ooops, picked the wrong day !

Firstly, the day started off raining heavily when we were down the South shore near Starr gate.

So we moved further up along the prom.

What a mistake !

It was the day of the Blackpool airshow and over 60,000+ folk were tramping all over the areas between the Central and North piers plus the security and fireworks.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-la ... e-19233705" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So it was no digging for me at the beach.

Most of the folk were on the concrete areas so finds tomorrow will be few I am afraid.

Back to the land I am afraid.

MMMMM, Didnt read that one, i seen someone on there last year, near the butlins end with a Gold medal he found a Good way out from the Dunes,
used to go regular, me & a mate & the missus when she started last year, but its got really noisy, as if its been seeded with small iron.
ive had a decent share of Gold & coinage from there, used it towards getting the Missus an Etrac & she loves it..
Never really been up between the piers, because of the New wall they built really.
