What Would You Recommend?

Post by BBH »

Hi, What MD would you recommend for the beach, mainly the waters edge? Don't want to pay too much, just something reliable and easy to use ::g

Anyone know if other Sovereigns like the Elite are good in wet sand too, and how do these compare with pi machines? I don't have much experience and was wondering if I can get away with one machine for land and beach or whether a pi for the beach is a must? Thanks.

Second hand etrac. I've Tected along side the sov gt and the explorer and the etrac pulled out the goodys like you wouldn't believe, deep too. Sov gt and explorer both excellent machines but in my experience the etrac has the edge. Only my opinion by the way :D

I have a sovereign gt and have just bought a garrett seahunter pi I wanted an underwater machine for a river search I'm currently doing in the tests I've performed so far the pi is by far the deeper on the beach getting right down to the hard layers but the sov is very very good on the beach

Like the idea of an etrac, if I can find a second hand one cheap enough which could prove difficult, but looks like a sovereign may be a good all rounder to get me back into detecting again - I may try to pick up a pi in the future so I can compare the two on the beach (I might even get away with making out that's a birthday present for the wife!). :D
