HI BD.. Thanks for the great work you put in the videos and using the good weather on the film shooting instead of searching the fields.. I have a few questions.. You didnt tried out the Non motion audio Discrimination.. tuned up to condition.. Many say this is the deepes program in the DEUS.. And what is the Custom setting 1-2-3-4-5-.. And were do I find this settings.. For me 5 seems to be the best..
So once againe - Thanks for sharing

Have to say most of the custom Discrim settings are too high, would probably miss cut halves n quarts, better on 2 ish, ok ya may dig a bit of pointy iron, but ya won't miss those small silvers, if ya using the screen just keep an eye on the numbers, Pon's settings are a good bet, but I would use 12KHZ......But it all depends on the site......IMHO.......

The custom settings are not of my design. I asked prior to the tests, for anyone who wanted, to send me details of their favourite settings. Sadly no one took me up on this offer so I was unable to make any test comparisons. The custom settings shown are what I found published on this site and other sites, plus some I knew about previously. All of which were being recommended as being good settings, so I was happy to try them out.Kmarsh wrote:Have to say most of the custom Discrim settings are too high, would probably miss cut halves n quarts, better on 2 ish, ok ya may dig a bit of pointy iron, but ya won't miss those small silvers, if ya using the screen just keep an eye on the numbers, Pon's settings are a good bet, but I would use 12KHZ......But it all depends on the site......IMHO.......
Agreed that Pon's looks good for depth. I also like #1 (Adam & Lisa's) which generally seemed to be quite favoured too.
@cbfn:
Yes, the Garrett has always impressed me with its depth when on Zero mode

If anyone has other Deus settings they feel 'does the business', please share your info with the community so we can all benefit

Hi Billy,
I've been doing some experimenting using GMP in 12 khz and with Disc at 5.5.
Air tests give me about an 1 inch more depth, in the field it 'feels' deeper.
Thanks for your time in doing these tests mate, much appreciated
