MDF Metal detecting & metal detectors resource: a friendly forum to discuss all your detecting needs and promoting responsible metal detecting for all.
Hi all
I am new to detecting & have a coinmaster pro which i intend to use on both land & sand.
so far i have found an old 1962 penny on the beach but i was wondering if anybody had any tips with this machine on wet sand.
turn sensitivity down but you will lose a bit of depth
it might just be me but is metal detecting becoming a snobbish sport
if your not the proud owner of a machine that cost £1000 or over no one seems to be interested in you or your questions
I used to have a Coinmaster Pro,a good little machine, found plenty with it,i never did beaches though, just farmland,i discriminated iron out (too much iron on fields).i did alot of coinshooting for modern money,it paid for itself in 4 months....keep swinging it and have fun
I just have the Coinmaster not the pro. That works on the wet sand with the sensitivity between 1/2 and 3/4 but it varys from beach to beach. It still gets a good depth even at 1/2 sensitivity I have had £1 coins from 5-6 inches.

Hi
I used to have one and I have found all sorts of things with it( Bronze Age, Hammered and gold coins)
My advice would be to go really slow and overlap your swing by at least 1/3.

Minelab Explorer 2 + 13" Ultimate coil One day, my ship will come. And with my luck, I'll be waiting at the airport!
Many thanks for the replies, next time the tide is out during daylight i will give the settings & advice a try.
As soon as the fields dry out a little i hope to be able to try some farmland, but at the moment i would need scuba gear
