Deus and Garrett Pro Pointer

hi guys ..I dont own a Deus but might do soon... i would like to know if there is a problem with interference from the Garrett pro pointer on any of the deus frequencys...

HI len, I find that when I am using 12khz on Deus Fast the probe goes crazy.

Ive been using both together for a fair while now and ive never noticed any problems.

Not had any problems with mine either. If I put the pointer next to the wireless headset (a few inches away), the phones give off an annoying whine, but obviously that's totally avoidable.

Thanks men...!!! couldnt bare to be with out my pointer....

I saw a short video with a problem on one of the detectors and it was going haywire when it was close to it...

Good question - the Propointer operates at a nominal 12KHz, though can be some way off this, either way. The 12KHz of the Deus is pretty precise, so they are likely to interfere badly. My Propointer ran at 12.35KHz, and it interfered terribly with my 13KHz detector, it was detectable from well over 2 metres away. With the pointer modified to run at 11.5KHz, it became useable. I don't think turning on the pointer is actually a cure. True, it doesn't cause obvious signals to the detector when on, but I suspect it may affect sensitivity to real targets.

I have recently changed to a Deus from an Etrac and find if I switch the garret pointer pro on the noise in my ears is so loud I can't hear the pointer sound and have to rely on the vibration. Its the same on all frequencies.

Although I now use a Deus which I just "frequency shift" one up or down in 12Khz to stop the noise, I had this problem once with the Etrac - just turn on the PP and hit the Noise Cancel before you set out, problem sorted, i believe ?>
