Being a total newcomer to the Deus, I was wondering if anyone could recommend the easiest and best on-board preset program (1-9) to use as a beginner, whereas i could just switch on the detector and use until I get more knowledgeable with the settings etc. My previous detector was a Garrett Ace 250, and I am fully aware that the Deus is a lot different, but I just want to be able to use it simply before getting into confusion trying to edit settings and parameters.
Any advice greatly appreciated
Gary
Easiest and best beginners program on the Deus
Hi Gazzer,
Love the goal against Scotland...!!
Have a go in GMP, basic 1 and Deus fast. They are all great ready to go programmes that will find you anything you have the good fortune to walk over.
Good luck.

Hi, I found that the easiest programme to turn on and go with was GM Power, then after a while, play with using the different Mhz in the other programmes.
i have now set the GMP, Basic 2 and Deus Fast as my main 3, but i have tweaked them to suit myself
just play around with the settings to suit you and the ground you are detecting, also you can use one of the many settings other members have posted, then adjust to suit
have fun

As said.. GMP and go.. Soon ( if you have iron in you field) you will find and dig it.. But.. Then you can click done in Basic 2 and recheck signal.. If it goes silent on you,, You got Iron.. if still sound chance is that you got something good.. This metode I use onlyon the hig numbered signals.. Like if I have doubt and number is like 91 - 99.. Not trying to confuse you.. Just a simple test you can do when you feel comfortable for it..

Thank you all for the great advice. I got my Deus machine Saturday and went out for an hour late in the afternoon using the advice you had given here. Probably beginners luck but on my 3rd signal dug up a lovely James 1st shilling. Thanks to all.
Now a bit more advice required.
As I have never used a machine like this before was I actually using it correctly. I had the machine on GMP basic 1 (program 1).
01. When sweeping across the ground no numbers appear on the control box in the middle square until you actually hit a target (is this correct) ?
02. The machine sounded silent until a target was hit, is this because iron is discriminated out ?
03. If iron is discriminated (10) do you lose any important signals in this set up ?
04. Lee B mentioned putting GB on tracking.... How do you achieve this ?
Sorry for the basic questions but any help much appreciated.
Thanks to everyone for the great advice and help
