You have a good point there Dave the costs could soon add up and it would be a lot of hassle to send it back ::g

I haven't turned my control box on in months yet the hammies and other goodies roll in. You really don't need that box for results!

As Fusion says watch out or vat and duty!!

The thing is though I'm sure you had it on a fair old bit when your were green with it and learning the signals..?

*edit also you dont pay import duty with the EU ::g
Agreed I used the screen for a while when I first got it but I'd come from a machine with a screen. Many peeps move to the Deus from the GMP so are more 'tone aware' I guess. I reckon I would have learned quicker and found more without the visual ID etc. as you tend to get hung up on numbers rather than actually digging. I have also found that deeper signals and faint signals won't ID anyway so you may leave them. Many of my best finds have come from those faint squeaks that would never have put a number on the screen. It comes down to your detecting style and what works for you. With hindsight £400 for the box to set the machine up and learn from for a while is not money well spent. XP must be happy their kit works real well without it too or they won't be offering the lite version. I think its great that a company listens to its consumers and offers the option of not buying the full monty if he/she doesn't want it. Makes a nice change! :D

I made reference to duty in case anyone was tempted to buy outside the EU. Many have found themselves spending more for items from abroad than they could have got them domestically.

Cheers V ::g

Agreed...my control box went back for repair as one of the LCD lines failed. Glad I didnt have to send it back to Bulgaria rather than Regtons!! :))

i am sorry but who would want to buy from outside the uk apart from its cheaper .most of the foreign machines are set up for what country they come from e.g from bulgaria it would be set up in bulgarian ok if you can read it . also if something goes wrong what a nightmare if everytime you have to send it back to bulgaria. i would rather pay an extra 100 quid for piece of mind from a good well know supplier .sorry but thats just me we have to support our own

Well said, we have chatted this through many times and I do appreciate that money saved is important, but getting a Deus will for most of us be the last machine we will get as it really does the business and if anything goes wrong then its peace of mind to have bought it in the UK.
Still ask for a drop in price as the UK sellers will want to be competitive, Liam ;)

Bulgaria joined the EU in 2007 so no duty. Not suRe on the VAT score though. I think Regtons are the sole importer of the Deus into the UK (happy to be corrected) so not a cartel.....a single importer setting their price so no competition ;;z

Correctly as richierich says detectorlabs in uk is £ 1099.
But as I understand our sponsor Crawfords will match any price inside UK, so you should get the full version for same price there.. (Please correct me if im wrong on this "price match" as it is second time I post about it)
