Post by sandman »

first session on the beach for a long time sand was way up the beach so was hoping there was going to be something good further out , well finds were slow mostly crap and then a lovely signal ,i thought ah another lead weight i was still thinking lead at 18" down , then i turned over another shovel full of sand and wow coins everywhere king george was looking at me though so i new instantly it wasn't that old , but exiting none the less , some 30 coins in total from 1999 Vicky penny to a 1958 half crown i gathered them all up and checked the hole , i just wanted to go home then but i carried on . i was moaning the other week that Ive not found a half crown before well now Ive got 3 of the buggers . :D

Tomo is right. I would go back and grid it approaching it from every direction. Its worth making note of the area for again too as when the beach gets stripped back by the wind and tide in the future it is sure to produce more good finds for you. Well done. ::g

Cheers

i have had a number of gold rings further up the beach , that area has got the least amount of sand on ive known since ive been going there , i will be going back there but i think the rings are further up the beach deep under the sand , but you never know for sure . if it were a hot spot i think i would of had more individual coins at depth .
