humber

Hi all.
On thursday morning ill be heading out for the day, I thought i`d try the humber somewhere around the bridge area. i`ve never done the humber before, so a bit of help needed from you fellas please. first of all ive no wellies im not really botherd about getting wet socks if i find something, how deep should i go in the water or do i stay at the waters edge, my detector is a laser hawkeye, i know these are rubbish on wet sand, but will the humber be sand or mud and if its mud will my machine take to it...also i have a plastic sand scoop do i just scoop up some mud or sand and do it that way.....help me out fellas as its a long trip to be coming back without enjoying myself.

Hi Floyd, you will probably bump into Andy, Adrian or myself(Brian) down there. It is hard going and mucky but can de rewarding. There is lots of iron so make sure your settings are right. The hawkeye is an awesome machine and the foreshore is not as mineralised as the wet sand.

You really need wellies though, call at BnQ and get a pair. They will come in handy whereever you dig!

Thinking about it wellies would be best, ill get a pair in the morning...which side of the bridge do people detect on and how do i get down under the bridge......im familiar with the tolls and clive sulivan way but thats about it..

head for the country parks inn on the foreshore. good safe parking and a hop skip and a jump to the foreshore. U can explore from there. all the best Brian
