Tried in vain for I hot spot but the rough seas recently seem to have mixed it all up.

At least you managed to get out....the live round needs to be handed in to the police as you know...

Hi Tomo
Nice finds and a 1942 live round looks like it missfired primer indentation I had a 303 the other day common sight 9mm misfires generally from 9mm machine guns water was a problem for 2nd world war cartridges primer would go off main charge wet hence the complete cartridge don't let it get hot and of course hand it in Regards Nev : ::g

Actually guys that isn't classed as a live round. With a struck primer it would be impossible to make it 'go off' in a 9mm weapon, or with any weapon for that matter. It does not need handing in as it is classed as 'visually inert'. A cartridge with a struck primer is classed as inert.

Its whats known as a dead mans click, when you pull the trigger and the primer dosent do its job and ignite the main charge, not a sound that instills confidence in your equipment ;f ;f #-o :-& :(
