Yesterday's beach trip to sunny Blackpool

Nothing to much to report apart from it didn't rain at all day. :)) :)) :))
a few decimal bits and my first bit of bling, an earing i think and probably plated.

now is it common practice to backfill your holes on the beach?
there was some chap down there with a PI and a sand scoop the size of a bucket, who left the beach looking like a battlefield. i know the tide would sort it out but i always kick the sand back into my holes. ::g ::g ::g

Well done on getting out and your first bit of "bling" :D ::g
It has rained hear virtually every day for ages, still managed a few hrs out though :)) :))
And yes, I always fill my holes on the beach, just think what might happen if, say, a horse and rider
were to fall after stepping in one of the holes ......dont bear thinking about :(

Hi all, a couple of us tried the beach at Filey yesterday due to water logged fields and there was a lad detecting leaving his holes open we always try to leave it as we find it. The fealing i get is the public are not too keen on us being there, so don't give them any reason to complain. My mate had a gold ring at filey but not much in the way of finds ended up at Scarborough digging nails, screws and sparklers after public bonfire. Fish and chips were spot on though, no complaints there..?

That,s ok. tho mate , at least you got something, also a couple more hours of practice with your machine, and some air and exercise, as for filling holes back in ,I would if I were you. even if the tides flooding back in don,t want to give anyone an excuse to moan about detecting on the beach, and its easy to do after years of bait digging I do it automatically .cheers, hope you find a nice gold ring next time out ,there,s no reason why you shouldnt. ::g

Back filling is a must do on any beach. We get alot of horses being ridden on our beach and don't need any accidents. Last thing you want on any beach is new council signs being erected with "metal detecting banned" on them. Good house keeping is essential ::g

Yep agree with all the hole comments, there is a Youtube posting of a guy on Blackpool beach leaving the place looking like a battlefield!!!
Think that a very good policy for detectorists would be to fill any holes they come across even if they were made by others....
Imagine there is no heaven, only sky above us.
