felixstowe day 2. unusual beach find aswell.

Post by zxadi »

Well 2nd day at beach this year :D & weather not so good , steady drizzle & heavy rain on/off ;;z .
got there at 10, and first finds come in quick 3 fishing weights all close to each other ;) . then a few bulletts ? ( no idea what they are ). after about a hour a iffy signal on the wet with the ace, as tide was comeing in fast i thought why not, so dug away about 4 inch down , out came the pro pointer and up popped a cracking Florin 1921 ( anyone now if any others have been found on a beach ) ;) ::g . Very happy with that find. so had some lunch and straight back to it. plenty more bulletts poping up here an there ( now on dry sand ) and £2.11 in spends aswell. all were found with the ace in jewellery mode at various depths. rest day tommorrow ,but will be back on friday. Takeing my 6 year old out for her first taste of this great hobby :D ::g .

At 60 years old i have lost loads of pre decimal coinage on the beach. The fact that not many are found now is that most have been found with just decimal being dropped today. The L S D money was going longer than decimal.
