Off to West Wittering on Sat

Off to West Wittering on Saturday for a day out with wife and daughter trying to get daughter into detecting ;'h good way of getting her some fresh air and exercise , not detected at wittering before just had summer day trips on the beach have emailed them regarding detecting and they have no problems, has anyone been detecting their lately and if so is there any area that is better than others.

should be quiet this time of year, keep close to the beachhuts and cafe...that should produce more than most. Having said that, the winds and tides have been very high so a lot has been moved around.

for instance, it's the first time I have ever seen Oysters on Southsea Beach, they are normally just outside Hayling.

Sand should still be very soft, got a sand scoop???

Thanks for that will check out the area, got my black ada metal scoop and garrett plastic one if only they sold the RTG PRO Aluminium Mini Travel Water Scoop in the uk to save my poor knee's

We were on West Wittering a couple of weeks ago, I think a pound coin was the best we found, oh and a toy fire engine !! I was a bit miffed about having to pay £6 to enter the car park.
Watch out for the buried groynes they have a large metal ring round the top, Good luck.
