Hi craghopper
By occupation I am a camping and touring warden my next move is inland so I have purchased a dual use machine.
For serious metal detector users this is an awesome beach machine and for inland stalwarts it would be a superb hoard hunter but not for every day coin shooting in fields hense the reason for sale this is a superb hobby for me it has now paid for itself twice over with all the previous coins and today's 18ct beauty Regards Nev

Nev ... keep the bloody thing. You will not get a better machine without paying a grand or more.

Hi strevexxx
Once you get to grips with frequency sounds I can quite happily walk away from a non productive target. With regards to performance for a start your e trac was over £900 more expensive manufacturers names mean nothing these machines were constructed by George Overton with over 30 years in design and development on PI machines.
I don't want to knock manufacturers but are you telling me you can pull single coins off the beach regularly at over two feet I have forum members who have been to the beach with me and witnessed this on numerous occasions these machines were designed for tv archaeologists on a contract that fell through only twelve in existence with top warranty

Absolutely not, neither my etrac or elete will normally go that deep, thats why Im giving this some thought but the upper beaches here are full of iron and discrim is very useful but as you say with time the tones can tell you a lot
