Just stick to the presets for a while till you get used to it Basic 1 and GMP are probably the most popular ::g Good luck with it they are a fantastic machine once they have been mastered :D :D

When you get some free time, I recommend you read the manual. It's actually really good, as far as manuals go anyway. ::g :D

Those default programs are fantastic! some of the depths I was achieving in my Depth tests were surprising in the sense I was using the default 9" coil :-O ::g
Light weight, wireless, it really can be a switch on an Go machine! remember to ground balance! ::g
Best of luck

Tried most of the settings but had the most finds on the following settings:
Basic 1 with the following changes:
Discrimination 8 - expert 2 tones set 1 at 200hz and the other at 791hz (easy to hear)
sensitivity 90-99 depends on how jumpy your soil is - expert TX setting 3
frequency 12KHz
Iron volume 2-3
reactivity 3 - expert silencer 2
audio response 5 - expert audio overload 0

I found them somewhere on here and LOVE them!!

cheers

The trouble with one setting for everywhere is obviously that setting won't be much use for other sites with different ground conditions. Even in the same area the ground conditions can be quite different. I believe its best to try out as many settings as possible while learning the machine, that way you can adjust things 'on the fly' to suit any conditions when you are more confident with the machine. Everyones methods will be different of course, and the deus is excellent at being as easy to use, or as advanced as you wish, to suit everyones needs. I'm starting to sound like some marketing guy now. :D
Anyways as with anything it just takes practise, so get out there try out the modes and have fun. ::g

The settings seem to stop me digging deep iron. The good signals jump out and ive found three hammereds in the last 10 days on ground I've been over and over before.
Cheers
