Elite on the beach

Its been a while since I've been able to get the the beach but had a lovely two hours this afternoon with the elite... The dry sand was for some reason giving all sorts of confusing signals up by the wall where I usually pick up stuff so dropped down to the firmer stuff where we picked up over £7 in odd coins of which 5 were £1 coins and only two bits of junk alloy...

The reason you may get lots of confusing signals by the wall is that is where a lot of rubbish will collect and there may be a lot of underlying ironwork

Could be that the numbers of junk steel coins has increased a lot recently so the busiest dry sand areas are becoming infested...sovereigns in disc can't handle these areas too well now

Could be old iron girders down there along with other trash, the sand level has dropped 2 feet in resent weeks in parts and a few wooden pillars now showing I don't ever recall seeing before.. we picked up another £2 off the top of the shingle where the sands been stripped away. Going to take the etrac tomorrow weather permitting see if it can see through the trash.

Another day, same beach, same place and another £3 of loose coins plus what looks like a very old coin but cant make out the image yet, will clean it up the weekend and we shall see..

What does your mixed bag look like after a trip ... Rubbish and all. Interested to see what you are digging, especially as you also are using the Elite.

Strangely i'm digging very little rubbish right now, I think I had one foil lid, three pull tabs and a couple of bits of alloy and a bottle cap, the rest is all coins.. Could be the lighter trash has been dragged away by the sea.
