Thanks Rob, Think that I'm gonna need a new camera B-) B-) B-) B-) . Next on my to do list is to clear the beach of a million ring pulls
Also have to thank some kind soul who suggested the PRO... I'm a real amature but the PRO makes me look good
even the half pences sound like soverigns
The PRO screams coinage and i just keep on digging

Well done mate. I love my pro too, it screams at you when you hit a good signal and you soon learn what to walk away from or dig.. As for the camera don't buy a new one just stick your finds in your flat bed scanner if you have one... If you don't have one they are not dear, you can get one for a few quid off eBay second hand you don't need a good one if its just for your finds.. A great tip for you all!!!!
If ring pulls were currency, i would be a friggin millionaire !!

'Photo' mode on a scanner usually works best for me. Some scanners even give a bit of 'depth' to objects too in this mode, but don't expect too much in that department, as they're obviously not meant for 3d.
Just as a quick example, I scanned this with a scanner, almost looks like a normal photo:

Just scan it as if it was anything else like a picture or a cd label etc then just crop the image done using paint then resize as you would for a forum pic...oldartefact wrote:Would love to hear how the scanner bit works ... do you a photo image or a "copy" image ... if you know what i mean???
