Hi Guys,
got some time down the beach and this little gem popped up!!
Apologies for the pic quality I'll see if I can add the reverse side..
A 1923 Canadian 5 cents nickle and I'm chuffed to bits!!
Squint your eyes and enjoy!!!

Thanks Rob, Think that I'm gonna need a new camera B-) B-) B-) B-) . Next on my to do list is to clear the beach of a million ring pulls :) :) :) Also have to thank some kind soul who suggested the PRO... I'm a real amature but the PRO makes me look good :) :) :) even the half pences sound like soverigns =)) =)) =)) =)) =)) =)) The PRO screams coinage and i just keep on digging :) :) :) :P

Well done mate. I love my pro too, it screams at you when you hit a good signal and you soon learn what to walk away from or dig.. As for the camera don't buy a new one just stick your finds in your flat bed scanner if you have one... If you don't have one they are not dear, you can get one for a few quid off eBay second hand you don't need a good one if its just for your finds.. A great tip for you all!!!!

Would love to hear how the scanner bit works ... do you a photo image or a "copy" image ... if you know what i mean???

'Photo' mode on a scanner usually works best for me. Some scanners even give a bit of 'depth' to objects too in this mode, but don't expect too much in that department, as they're obviously not meant for 3d.

Just as a quick example, I scanned this with a scanner, almost looks like a normal photo:

i did find a canadian 25 cent coin from 1927 a while back and thought excactly the same as you ,very sought after by canadian collectors i found out ,i think its more to do with the dates than the actual coin from what i found out ,nice find ::g ::g

Just scan it as if it was anything else like a picture or a cd label etc then just crop the image done using paint then resize as you would for a forum pic...
