yep Ive been asked to check out a marshy area near where I live by a farmer who lost a gold watch there years ago.Been there once to sniff around and check it out ,found a few bits and bobs but no watch.Chatting to the farmer,we worked out exactly where I will look next time I go,then he told me he forgot to mention that during the second world war a German bomber offloaded some bombs on his way back over the channel,and they all landed in the marsh where I m looking for that gold watch.I know they re prob deep down ,but if I get a good signal and something starts ticking, I hope its the watch.....

just wondered where that was...i have permissions on the same sort of ground on a farm in kent.. lots of talk of military ordanance..

cheers Phil I m in Wales. yes mate I hope the watch is all I find ha, seriously tho theres about a foot of water there at the moment but it ll drain away in a month or two.(hopefully)

I have a book showing all the exact locations of bombs dropped in Leicestershire. It also shows those that didn't explode and those that were never recovered. It amazed me how many were simply left where they dropped. On closer examination and a bit more research, turns out the ones left alone had hit marshy/boggy ground around the rivers of Leicestershire and, because of the soft earth, buried themselves 15 feet or more down.

So they probably are still there but you would need a full stack of geo-phys equipment to find them !!!

ha nice one mate...to be honest with the amount of rainfall weve had it s starting to look more like an equatorial rain forest over here.an them bombs being so deep I may give the time team a shout, they ve got all the gear,Ill tell them theres a couple of deep graves, they seem to like digging bodies up.who knows could go with a bang.
