River Finds
Here are three nice finds that i have had this week in two short serches along with over 70 coins and 100 plus lead fishing weights, buttons old keys brass and copper boat nails screws door fittings cloth seals. All came from a dirty muddy stretch of river coved in iron and broken glass and rubbish.I had to clear one patch so i could use the deus as i could nor use but it paid off as you can see from the three finds that came from that area.

Digging the Thames foreshore is one of the only things i have missed since i left London. over 20 years ago. Still find most Rivers are either Feast or Famine. have a lot of days where i go home with nothing. But odd spots have more than made up for itoliver wrote:If you think that is good have a look in the Thames you will never go anywhere to detect. The pickings here a sparse hard work infarct.![]()

Yes that is the only thing i miss about the big smoke.Used to live on the foreshore ,down most days when not at work.Lived right next to the river and played on the foreshore when i was a kid that's what got be into finding things.Started picking up clay pipes then started to find coins eyes only. Then in the 60 got a detector and had a heyday with finds used to take to the London museum to find out what i had found.
