Few hours today, more Gold

Could be back working tomorrow, so took advantage of a few spare hours to redo a couple areas today , could just hit the clay in places but very deep. very little turned up apart from a Devils Toenail Fossil and another Gold band, The halfcrown must be the deepest coin ive ever dug, Very slight signal that in the end caused me to widen the hole twice to get enough leverage on the spade to get it out, that and the 2 pre decimal pennys were sat right on top of the base clay. Looking forward to digging some new land sites if the east Riding ever drys out

Going to take a look at a Few beachs south of Brid this week Mark but not taking the detector, hopefully we can get out at the weekend

Just back from Brid seafront Andy, had a job interview. Dont waste your time with Brid at the moment, last night piles of weed etc got blown onto the beach. looks like it gos right down to Fraisthorpe. Ask me again Friday will check it again for you

Are there many fossils turning up ? I would have thought there would be quite a few with all this rain and erosion !

Theres always fossils about on the Yorkshire coast, But the fossil collectors are down looking everyday. Even get School partys down looking for fossils, This area tends to produce Ammonites, and Devils toenails in the rock, But we are close to Chalk cliffs here which tend to produce mainly sponges. Cant say i like fossils in chalk they tend to look like a rust stain!
