XP Deus neoprene control box cover

Post by Guybrush »

I've been looking for a control box cover for the Deus and wanted one that would protect the box whilst attached to the stem. I mainly do beaches so this is a must for me to protect it from the salt and sand. There doesn't seem to be much about to do the job. However, a quick google turned up the 'Deus Neoprene remote Cover'. It looks like it would do the trick, just wondered if anyone was using one and their thoughts. Also does it work with the newer Deus stem slot (ie not the magnetic one)?

Cheers

James

i bought one of these for mine and to be honest there not the best. mine is poorly made and doesnt fit to well and keeps slipping off. probably better going for the armstrap type or the waterproof round the neck type. ::g

Hi i got the one you show works fine use all the time but if it rains i put control in my pocket as this is not water proof as the bottom is open but keeps the box clean and sand away ::g ::g ::g ::g ::g

Thanks for the feedback. I don't know which to get now then. :-w Both look like they'd do the job, but, as you say not waterproof but at least will protect the control box from the elements.

Can anyone tell me, do either of them have a hole so I can plug my earphones into the bottom? I don't get on with the wireless headphones so I'll be using my earbuds for now.

Cheers

Hmm, that's not good then. I wonder if the one from Scottish Detectorist has an open bottom as it were.

it looks a good bit of kit, its got a drawstring bottom so you should still be able to use wired headphones with it

I bought the neoprene one, used it twice now and will never used it again! It's horrible. Bad quality and yes, it just kept slipping off. I had to trim it too shape too as it was badly cut and was too small around the hole for the magnet. The plastic see through cover was too thick as well so the buttons where very hard to press underneath it especially of you wear gloves as well.
I am about to order the one from detecting-goodies, as seen above, it looks far better. Will report back.
