change of mind on beach detecting

Post by Emrys »

I have been out on several beaches over the past year and my best and only finds apart from fishing hooks and tent pegs have been a pound coin and a 2p and vowed to stick to my good old fields in future yet when we had family down for the easter weekend we went to the beach and seemed too much of a good opportunity to get a couple of hours in.
well .................
found 22 pre decimal coins, a weird ring not sure if gold as had a lot of corrosion but still sparkles and the right colour and not magnetic
a very tiny copper coloured colour locket with a flower in the middle and a star/ cross possibly from an uniform
any ids on these first 3 items would be appreciated

happy easter

Some nice finds, but gold is unique in the fact it stays the same colour even in salt water so its odds on favourite is some cheapo ring.

Old rose gold can change colour due to the portion of copper mixed in.

I don't think that is gold though. Probably brass/copper.
