Budget detector for the beach
I'm looking to get a beach detector but don't no where to start. I have a euroace which is no good on the wet sand. Can anyone point me in the right direction towards a descent budget detector looking around the £200 mark.
Cheers chris

M/c alone £255.free postage order before 3pm ,n its delivered next morning.
Great m/c for beaches,.
Has taken me a while to adapt to my PI m/c.you will need a good spade.cos they go deep.
if it bleeps dig it ,and it will bleep cos it picks up everything, but remember that ring pull gives same signal as a gold ring. Its a good solid m/c ,but the secret is noing were to look,.and reading the beach.

Or..If you don't fancy digging iron then keep a look out for a secondhand Sovereign XS2a...you may find one around £200=250,they're old now but basically have the same performance as the newer Sov GT and a few people supply recargeable battery packs for them...all the aftermarket coils for the Sovereigns will work ok.

I agree with the guys but your euroace Will work fine if you crank down the sensitivity to two or three in all metal really depends how often you detect beaches if you are going regularly take the guys advise and you won't go wrong

You don't always need depth.if you find were the sand is stripped.n your down to the clay, nothing(generally)can get any deeper.last week one lad pulled 2rings and a half sov and a pile of coins.the next day i went to the same spot n got 25 smallcoins litterally only under an eigth/quarter inch of sand another lad this morning went to the same spot found GOLD and a pile of coins.yet tomorow it may be under2/3feet of sand.tides n beaches take some "reading"Its clicking into place for me after a couple of months n a lot of help n advice from the east coast lads.chunk69 wrote:Cheers guys tried the euro on beach but with only 3 notches just feel like everything is going to b out of reach.

Cheers again for the advice will definitely look in to the minelab probably won't be for a couple months before I can afford it as getting married in June so money pretty tight at moment. Think I'd get shot if I spent £200 on a detector before the wedding lol.
