Hi Craig .... You won't need any Deus experts to tell you the most popular factory settings for ploughed land would be Deus Fast or GM Power. I think they are programmes 2 and 3. Get ready though for suggestions otherwise and a few 'home made' programmes that people will offer. But for FACTORY settings (for ploughed) I'm happy to recommend Deus fast and GM Power. Good luck.

Cheers Whitestone, I currently use gm but didn't want to be missing out through being naive.

In your opinion which is the better of the two or what are the differences?

Hi Craig, another Deus user here, surprised that you have not looked at the extensive Menu on the left and posted in the XP Deus section, tons of first class information there. Have now moved this into the Deus section.
I also use GMP for 95% of the time, seems ideal for my ploughed land. Many users will have their own settings and be a bit secretive, beware of people suggesting all weird kinds of settings as the machine as it stands is really powerful and needs very little tinkering.
I would suggest using the factory settings for a few months at least before experimenting. That way you may at least understand the changes you are making.
Great machine, now widely popular but sometimes not understood, happy hunting, Liam

Read the manual from cover to cover when you get some free time. It's actually pretty good as far as manuals go and very informative. ::g
People can always give general settings, which may be suited for their land not yours, so taking the time to get to know your machine will benefit you more than asking others for their settings. All land requires different settings, best done on the fly. Using any of the presets are always a good start to get to know the tones, etc. Doesn't really matter which, just a matter of preference, motion, non motion etc.. Obviously don't start by using the wet beach one off a beach though. =D> As others have said gm power and deus fast are good to start off with.
Good luck. X:)

I'm with everyone else on this.

The factory settings on GM Power are ideal and I only ever tweak sensitivity. The factory settings were developed with experienced detectorists so you are basically getting experts' custom settings.

I have a custom programme that I got from a DVD. It's good if detecting in iron infested sites but the GMP programme is quieter and has found me cut halves and quarters that are tiny and I will only ever use the custom settings again if iron is a big problem.

Good luck with it. Can't speak too highly about the machine. Found one gold item in twenty years detecting and then two within twelve months after buying the Deus.
