Its thrown some stuff up, But not been as productive as I expected, Be interesting to see how it produces the next time it strips off, Could be years if not decades before it happens again. Saw a late roman bronze coin that came off last week today. The finder said the sand was slowly creeping back ::g

Hi Neil, I noticed on my last visit what was happening on that beach. There are big areas that we have searched and removed finds from and are now barren, the sand is coming back in on some places and the stripped areas are heading South away from the places where the holiday makers mainly congregate.

If this continues then expect more Bullets, lead and scrap and less coins or bling. I have not come across a beach that has been 'open' for so long and as this one so as Anybeach says "we've been spoilt on that beach" so be thankful that we have had a lot of nice finds from there.

Never got chance to catch up with you and the lads last visit, my oldest find was a very worn George III halfpenny 1806/07 a couple of silver sixpences and loads of pre decimal/early decimal coins including a patch of a dozen decimal halfpennies.

Going to be a few more week before I can get over again so good luck on your next outings ::g

Hi Ray
Did not do as well as usual but still did ok, i had about 20 coins of both pre decimal and modern, a riding crop brooch, cap badge etc. As anybeach says "we have been spoilt", however, i can cope with that. But the whole experience of Filey the surroundings, the folk i've met and the finds i've had have bean brilliant.
I almost forgot we gave a quiality street tin full of modern money to the Filey sea cadets

Hi chaps first time ive been on the forum this week so I have some catching up to do...
I also have been out with rattzz and homeboy and the finds on the beach have been getting fewer and just reading Silverwoods post about not ruling bullets out as there will be good stuff amongst it. Was talking to a old local who said there was a rifle range on the beach during the ww2, I must have been on a pistol/smg range has most of the bullets where 9mm.
Then out popped the bit of yellow.....

Nice find on that ring Ribeye well done ::g Yes there are good finds among the bullets but they get harder to winkle out as you head South on the beach towards Primrose Valley the bullets get more numerous and good stuff harder to find. By the shear number of 9mm bullets on a section of clay I was on a few weeks ago I am guessing they were spraying the beach with Sten guns ;;z

I agree about the possibility of better finds heading south and when you after take in to account long shore drift where it may pick things up and take them south ( something I did at school ) I think that's how spurn head was formed I believe... but correct me if I am wrong..
Good luck everyone...
