Signet rings,why so many ??????

Post by thirddegreewitch »

I've been thinking about the rings i've found over the months on my local beach, i've had a couple of golds,a couple of silvers and a stainless steel, with a assortment of 'Tat' rings.
Now....most of them have been Signet rings......WHY ? looking at a Signet ring, constructively it should cling to your finger better than say a wedding ring or an engagement ring. Most wedding/engagement rings are just plain bands whereas a signet ring has a top 'plate' to enable engraving etc.im thinking this plate should snag on your finger as its coming off, making it harder to lose in theory. I'm very grateful for the rings i've found but would like to find a nice ring for my other half, something with nice diamonds in would be nice.
Any thoughts or am I talking rubbish ?

Signet rings are easy to find because of the size and thickness, Compared to thin Engagement rings and wedding bands, Even when the band breaks on a signet ring theres still enough to give a decent reading, Break a thinner section ring and most machines wont get it . ::g

the size and design of a ring makes no difference, in cold water the fingers will shrink enough for the ring to fall off, in warm water they will not shrink so much but the chances are that people in a warmer climate will have suntan lotion on and thus aid the ring on its way, on sunny days in the uk you get the combo of lotion and cold water and BINGO B-)

makes me laugh, I don't know how I manage to miss the nice chunky gold rings, I always seem to find the fine engagement rings that weigh next to nothing B| lol :D
